Inside Voice

It's almost an art form, bottling it all up Not saying a word and letting your blood boil Showing a smile to the world, staying strong Yet crying and letting go behind closed doors, Though it doesn't really work for everyone, Cos some hearts can only take so much Until they boil over and the rage kicks in And you lose control of your emotions Sometimes losing control is perceived as weak It ostracizes people and overshadows everything Any and all good deeds go down the drain pipe And you're left to tangle with your troubles alone But is it really weak to accept your pain? And want company during hard times? Is it really fair to ostracize the already lonely? When all they ever wanted was a friend? You feel your nightmares become real All your dreams dissappear before you And your past will haunt you everyday No choice, you just have to live through it Your heart, beating broken beats and so hollow That empty, lonely feeling of remorse inside The d...

The Patriot

Defend the rights of everyone Not just the fascist beliefs of one Fight for peace and absolute unity Fight with pride and with dignity Don't fall prey to silly propaganda  Or someone's petty political agenda Stand up against racism and hate Instead, learn to love and appreciate Rise up against Lords of corruption Not with war, but peaceful disruption Fight for poor, weak and oppressed Say it loud, don't let it be suppressed Fight for the victims of senseless abuse For all genders, colours, castes and creeds Fight, with actions, words and deeds Bring honour to the people and the flag Without the guns, war paint and rags Violence should never be one's fate Cos true patriots defend without hate

33 and counting

33 years old, wow where did the years go? Time flies by so fast, you, cant take things slow And despite it all, I just can’t help wondering Could my life really get anymore interesting? My memory is both blessing as well as a curse At times it makes me feel that much worse 33 years of insanity pretty much from day one And lord knows, they haven’t always been fun I’ll always be grateful for all my experiences For my family, friends and my acquaintances I’m grateful too, for my enemies and foes Especially the ones responsible for my woes The choices I made weren’t always the best I know someday all my regrets will be at rest And for those who supported me through it all I am who I am because you didn’t let me fall  I’ve been privileged to know love in all its glory Despite the sad ends, they were amazing stories I’ve enjoyed life’s pleasures and I’ve felt its pain I’ve been through enough to drive a man insane I may not have achie...

The Great Outdoors

Can civilization progress without all the killing? It doesn’t take much; we just have to be willing People hunt for sport and poaching for the haul Selling skin & bones of creatures great and small Clearing out forests in the name of development Fairly certain slaughter is not what that word meant That’s the sad thing about this world, its run by greed Wonder how it came to this and who planted the seed The corporate's only want their pockets filled While the poachers just want their orders billed What if we all spend some time on conserving? Couldn’t we co-exist without the marauding? Game hunters stand next to their kills shamelessly And we sit here behind screens, pretty much aimlessly  Keyboard heroes spread their words all around But only a handful would actually get on the ground We have to stop taking this planet for granted          Protect our animals and get trees planted We’re not...

Envy

Look at him, so handsome and smart Girls flocking around him, he’s like a work of art How he does it? Nobody can really say Imagine if someone looks at you this way? Look at her, so popular and beautiful Intelligent, funny and oh so graceful She can have anyone in the blink of an eye And all you can do is stare and sigh Look at them, such a close group of friends Confident that they’ll be together till the end Having each other’s backs through thick and thin If you had friends like that, how would life have been? Look at that family, so happy and loving Perfect in every way, with no pushing or shoving They’re like something out of a movie or a TV sitcom, And you just sit there, wondering where are they from? Look in the mirror, what do you see? A human being, young, strong and free Don’t worry about them or what the world sees in you Because someday, you'll be in the eye of envy too

Words

Words, one of the most powerful forces on earth They can bring happiness and they can also hurt We take them for granted, we don’t really think That the things we say can leave us on the brink Words start wars and destroy without warning Spreading hatred and sending armies storming At the same time they can spread love and peace Bringing war to an end so that suffering will cease Words can tell stories both of fact and of fiction From poetry to music and other forms of diction They bring to light all your most intimate feelings Like a promise of affection that’ll leave you reeling Words can offend and break peoples hearts at will Destroying a person’s spirit with the pain they instil They can bully, shame and bring fear to peoples minds And turn a weakened soul in to one that’s unkind Words can also motivate, strengthen and inspire And bring to life all your inner most desires They can give a broken spirit a new outlook on life The right ...

In your lying eyes

I see you, who you really are I see the pain beneath the scars I see the fear locked in your heart A fear of love, tearing you apart Inside you want that companionship That someone who'll never abandon ship But you're afraid to open your mind Cos in the the past, someone was unkind Yet I see it, the love you so desperately hide I see the cravings you have locked inside But it's not my place to tell you how to live Nor is it anyone else's advice to give But I see it all, hidden deep inside you I see through you, cos I've been there too And that strong face that the world sees May fool many, but you'll never fool me Cos I see the loneliness in the tears you don't cry And I see it all, in your lying eyes
