The Weight of Hate

Hate has been with us for as long as time Woven through history, like rhythm and rhyme From podiums down to corners of our streets Under the guise of pride, it does not retreat   With religion, race, even skin colour at its core We live divided, hate turns strangers to foes So many fight over borders, gods and flags, And so many innocents end up with toe tags   Politics divides us as much as other beliefs And corruption reigns, while people grieve Some don’t vote, because our ‘leaders’ lie Believing false promises, while children cry   Even gender has become a battlefield And ‘equality’ is a fight where nobody yields Orientation and identity are a whole other mess Where it will all end, is anyone’s guess   Class still divides the very streets we walk From the meals we eat, to the way we talk No matter where we live, or what our background Ultimately, we end up beneath the same ground   Race and culture, so often misunderstood What is wrong to some, to others is ...

Introverts

Alone on purpose, and broken inside strong on the surface silently wiping tears aside Lost and lonely minds, protected by walls crowds are unkind yet still standing tall There's nothing to show, no words are spoken but behind closed doors the silence is broken The over-thinkers curse, thoughts in multitude and to make it worse there's solace in solitude Words with pen on paper, flowing smooth and true no foul, no harm, no caper only honest to a few Conversations are seldom, mainly with the closest around only a handful are welcome because trust isn't easily found To wounds of sticks and stones, the introvert never succumbed whether in public or alone always comfortably numb

The Patriot

Defend the rights of everyone Not just the fascist beliefs of one Fight for peace and absolute unity Fight with pride and with dignity Don't fall prey to silly propaganda  Or someone's petty political agenda Stand up against racism and hate Instead, learn to love and appreciate Rise up against Lords of corruption Not with war, but peaceful disruption Fight for poor, weak and oppressed Say it loud, don't let it be suppressed Fight for the victims of senseless abuse For all genders, colours, castes and creeds Fight, with actions, words and deeds Bring honour to the people and the flag Without the guns, war paint and rags Violence should never be one's fate Cos true patriots defend without hate

Words

Words, one of the most powerful forces on earth They can bring happiness and they can also hurt We take them for granted, we don’t really think That the things we say can leave us on the brink Words start wars and destroy without warning Spreading hatred and sending armies storming At the same time they can spread love and peace Bringing war to an end so that suffering will cease Words can tell stories both of fact and of fiction From poetry to music and other forms of diction They bring to light all your most intimate feelings Like a promise of affection that’ll leave you reeling Words can offend and break peoples hearts at will Destroying a person’s spirit with the pain they instil They can bully, shame and bring fear to peoples minds And turn a weakened soul in to one that’s unkind Words can also motivate, strengthen and inspire And bring to life all your inner most desires They can give a broken spirit a new outlook on life The right ...

Innocents

It's been said before, so let it be said again This world has gone completely insane Why do we try so hard to destroy each other? Can't we just accept the differences in one another?  So many people suffer and die for no reason And by doing nothing, we're commiting treason For what? Someone else's political advantage? We need to put an end to this genocidal rage If you're a politician, don't abuse that power Use it for change so millions don't have to suffer Why do innocent souls have to die for your benefit? We all know the truth, even if the media tries to omit.  We need to make sure this nonsense ends with us So future generations can live in peace and trust  Let's unite as one race and let this madness cease And try to get along with each other in peace  People don't believe that things can change anymore That all this nothing more than a political show Messages of peace are buried by hates ugly shape Le...

Our Emancipation

Our very own devotion To life’s very notion Depends on our motivation For leisure and education We face many decisions Throughout our many missions For the future we envision We must act with precision With the right supervision Because failure is an explosion Of uncontrollable emotion That flows like the ocean Puts our souls in dissolution And while we feel that desolation In the depths of isolation We always look for resolution While feeling life’s confusion We crave for that infusion To fill our heart’s contusions And restore our damaged vision When we find our salvation We raise a glass in celebration And while we feel that elevation Remember the revelation For it’s that exhilaration That prevents obliteration And gives us emancipation

Bite the bullet

Life is full of difficult decisions It never really ends up how we envisioned  We never get everything we want, that's fact  We just play the hand we're dealt from the pack  It's hard for everyone this game we call life  We all face our hardships and battle through strife Sometimes things work out, sometimes they don't  The hardest thing is accepting it, cos mostly we won't Life is a gamble and that's nobody's fault And losing is like covering an open wound with salt Some to walk away without dealing with pain Though facing your demons is the only way to stay sane But then there times when the game goes right And for these battles, we must stand and fight Cos at the end of the it'll being joy to your heart Even if it brings pain, just bite the bullet from the start

Dreamer

I dream of a world where we all get along, A world where people know right from wrong Where there is unity without hate, And humanity would change the world’s fate I dream of a world that accepts those for all they are Where lifestyles don’t matter and love ruled by far A world where religion didn’t divide people at all And where the good in people prevailed and evil would fall I dream of a world where there was only one race Where people get along despite the colour of their face A world without selfish people and prejudice failed And people respected each other and nobody bailed I dream of a world where women aren’t objectified Where our mothers, sisters and daughters are glorified A world where people stood up against abuse and rape And where justice prevails and evildoers see no escape I dream of a world where human and animal lived as one Where profit was based on hard work and not stolen by a g...

I, Earth

I am the reason you exist Yet, you take me for granted Do you take pleasure in hurting me? Have I not given you enough? I've given you fire, wind and water Food, and beauty beyond compare Even oceans, forests and mountains I’ve given you everything you have And you think you own me Why do you hurt yourselves? Don't you see how foolish it is? Don't you see you're hurting me too? Because you are a part of me And by hurting and killing yourselves You're actually hurting me By throwing your trash in my oceans And hunting my animals for sport With every bullet and bomb, You destroy so many species Your cruelty makes you evil And you don't even realize it Every wrapper and every scrap You pollute my rivers and oceans Even the trees you cut down You kill without even thinking Nearly everything you do hurts me You destroy in the name of progress You create and innovate at my expense One day you will see that by hurting me You are only ...

The Blame Game

We humans are experts at blaming each other And we do it, even if it means hurting another We never take responsibility for our own actions do we? We’re blind to it for some reason and this just cannot be  We blame others for things like racism, rape and wars When we see others suffer, we start moving our jaws We punish those who do wrong without trying to teach them right And then we go on and on about some self-righteous fight  We blame nations for arming rebels and creating unjust ways Thing is, we could’ve stopped it, but we let it happen anyway We blame a whole race and religion for terrorism without cause And then voice our opinions without knowing what’s true or false We protest immigrants for coming over and ‘taking our jobs’ They aren’t you enemy and this ignorance must stop Imagine if we worked to together and kept moving forward But alas we fall prey to propaganda and the words of a coward  We fight for equality amongst...

Humanity

How did humanity manage to stray so far? Why can’t we understand that one simple truth? That we are all human, same skin, bone and hair To change this world, we need to start with the youth We have politicians who live to turn things sour They curse and destroy peoples lives at will They're driven by greed, money and power If only they worked for the people and not make them ill Then, we have terrorists who kill in the name of god Driven by the propaganda of an unjust hatred Complemented by racists and supremacists whose leaders are all frauds They need to be taught right & wrong before they end up dead There are also those who call themselves men in vain Rapists, abusers, thieves and murderers just to name a few On the underwear of humanity, these people are a stain The saddest part of all this, is that its nothing new Is this really the world we should proudly call home? A world where innocent blood is spilled so easily? U...

Acceptance

This world is full of narrow minded individuals, we humans judge each other so much its almost ritual acceptance in abundance that the world needs hate only grows from many misguided seeds So what if someone believes in something? there should be no room for all this grumbling its not anyone's place to disagree with that to each their own, that's a saddest of all facts Everyone has a right to choose their own dues why does it matter if someone looks different than you? or even if he or she follows another religion? so what if man loves a man or a woman loves a woman There's so many people who talk about saving the earth hate is taught to people, it's not something we inherit at birth save the trees, the animals, but it's all talk with no action lets begin with the people, maybe that'll start that needed chain reaction All this war, the senseless killing and suffering around us all because some idiot somewhere decided to make a fuss MJ said...

A prayer for the world

Dear lord, The entire world has lost the plot How is it possible that we all forgot? That we're all human beings at heart That in this world's future, we all play a part There's propaganda spreading like wild fire And it's absorbed blindly by hates desire They spill innocent blood in your name So many dying for politics, it's a crying shame Why can't the different cultures just get along? If we could coexist and unite we'd be strong The lack of humanity in some baffles the mind How can we be so evil to our own kind? Women and children suffer unfathomable abuse Rape, beatings and death just the spark to the fuse It's intolerable how low man has sunk Worse even that the oder expelled from a skunk We're also killing the very world you give us Everything is polluted, from the water to the dust We don't realize that we're just hurting ourselves And some future species will have us on shelves Let your guiding light shine...

One Blood

How do you not see that we're all the same? Same flesh, same blood, we differ only by name Don't we understand what human is anymore? We think we're smart, but we've nothing to show Yes, it'd true we all believe in different things Hate is pointless, what justice does it bring? We have different gods, lifestyles and rules Yet some choose to listen to the rambling of fools What is the point of a nation with free education? If we don't teach people to avoid hateful situations? If we were taught the basics of right and wrong Maybe we'd stop hearing the same hate song All this propaganda about blood these days So much injustice and the people look away All these extreme and racist behavior Is not now nor has ever been the work of a savior We've already seen and felt the toils of a war And it was the single worst thing that we ever saw Why try so hard to go backwards in time And lower ourselves to a level even less than grime Whether...

A Christmas Wish

Tis' the season again, time has flown by another year gone, let the fireworks fly decorations, gifts and blissful holiday cheer with family and friends from far and near December is a month of happy celebrations a month to forget about life's many frustrations a time to reflect on the year that we've had and to accept it whether it was good or bad There's Christmas offers and shopping galore decorations on houses, streets and stores last minute presents both the hits and misses standing under mistletoe and stealing kisses But there are people that don't get to celebrate without family, gifts, food or even a plate and as we enjoy Christmas we often forget to give something back and not feel regret It's a season for everyone to unite in harmony to ignore caste & creed and embrace humanity it's a time for peace to prevail over all conflict for laying down arms and the pain it inflicts Christmas should be celebrated by everyone i...

The Ugly Truth

Take a good look at the world today, At this once beautifully mysterious place Does everyone have to continue living in fear? Is this truly what any 'God' in any religion wanted for the world? We live in a world full of hate, pain and evil Honestly, how can people be so ignorant? Intolerance is a horrible thing, Why can't the people get along and live together? How can we as humans spread so much hate? Why are we afraid of people who are different? There are people suffering and  dying for nothing all over the world The rich live and the poor struggle to survive The extremists kill and terrorize in the name of 'God', The innocent who pray and worship the same 'God' suffer and die How ignorant can people be? just because others are different And because others have different beliefs and choose the way they live Innocent lives lost, and nobody does anything about it, That's the sad truth, all these questions go unanswered Doesn't anyone our so called l...

Childhood

Running around the garden, playing all kinds of games thinking back now, life will never be the same sitting here reminiscing and writing all these rhymes lord knows I'll never forget, those amazingly innocent times Cricket, touch rugby or running around with toy guns such happy memories, so much crazy fun running freely up down the road together with my cousins and friends,  memories last forever Playing with figurines and toy cars alike pretending to be characters from TV that we like no stress in our lives in those care free days I miss those years in so many ways Now we're all grown up, some with kids of their own our own parents look at us and say ' goodness how they've grown' watching the next generation, run around like we did takes me back to those days when no worry was ever needed The best days of someones lives are always their childhood full of freedom and fun and the meaning of brotherhood even if it's playing a bass drum in school or wearing a cap ...

Unjust War

Many years of meaningless violence we’ve seen Assassinations and bombings, an everyday scene Our people have spilled gallons of blood For what reason must we bury our brothers and sisters in mud Soldiers fall, while civilians crawl People being crushed underneath falling walls Now from above we see more danger From this terror, we inherited an unjust anger There was so much fighting now; we have forgotten why it started How can any human being be so ill hearted? Even children don’t see the light of another day They take one small step and they’re blown away We’ve been through it before, let’s stop this from happening again In so many years, there was no justice, just pain Let’s end this terror before even more people die Don’t say there is peace, because that’s a blatant lie Politicians are the cause of all this stupidity Spreading words of hate and immoral insecurity We look to our leaders for motivation and hope But they are the ones who push...
