Our unsung heroes

It's funny how much we only think about ourselves
There are people that we just put on the shelves
We live our lives in our own little bubbles
Not thinking about those we go to when there's trouble

To support our lives they battle with their own
Would it hurt to return the love they've shown?
They do everything for us and we are ungrateful
They've always been there even to take us to school

It's not that we don't appreciate what they do
But we could show them we understand too
They give us everything yet we take them for granted
And I suppose it's about time somebody ranted

Granted, in some cases there is abuse and pain
And tears block your vision like a storm of rain
But then stop and think about how you came to be
And maybe you can come to terms with the struggles you don't see

The unknown lengths, the many sacrifices
They show as the road and we travel with our own devices
So show some love to those who keep us from being zeroes
And don't let your parents be unsung heroes
