A White Rum Christmas

I'm dreaming of a White Rum Christmas Just like the one's I used to know Where ice cubes glisten And barmen listen To hear us asking them for more I'm dreaming of a White Rum Christmas With every glass raised in the air May your chasers be many and iced And may all your Christmas Rum be White I'm dreaming of a White Rum Christmas With every joyful drink we share May your nights be awesome and bright And may all your Christmas Rum be White I'm dreaming of a White Rum Christmas With every hangover I have May your days be happy and light And may all your Christmas Rum be White

Reflection

So here we are, facing the end of another year, and the festive season has now moved into 5th gear we look back and wonder where the hell the time went? and think 'imagine if I saved all that money I spent?' We had so many plans at the beginning on Jan and as we humans say, 'well maybe this year we can?' look back at the last 12 months, what do you see? think to yourself 'what did I actually do for me?' It's that time of year when we reflect on the days gone by look at the things that went wrong and wondering why? we had resolutions and goals we had set for ourselves and now its too late to take those thoughts off the shelves The usual story beckons, those New Year, New Me thoughts but in all honesty, lets reflect on how hard we really fought? to achieve these resolutions and change the beat our hearts well, maybe at lest this year we can push ourselves to start What ever those resolutions and goals maybe? get to it before its too late,

A Hooligans Game

It's a hooligans 's game, played by gentlemen, 15 take the field, all charged with adrenaline 80 minutes on the grass, with their hearts on their sleeve hoping for that victory, only they can achieve The ref's whistle blows and the fly-half kicks, and the other team collect and start with their tricks chip kicks, dummies and brilliant line breaks bone crunching tackles, which result in body aches Quick taps and penalties, drop-outs and rolling mauls, set moves with second rows jumping for the ball three-quarters run through gaps hoping to score a scrum down engages, the crowd begins to roar The scoreboard keeps ticking, they congratulate the scorer both teams playing with and pride, until it's all over bad calls from the ref, the touch judges fumble one team at a disadvantage, the crowd starts to grumble The final whistle blows and whatever the result the teams come together, no foul nor insult and then it's off to the pub for their holy co

I, Earth

I am the reason you exist Yet, you take me for granted Do you take pleasure in hurting me? Have I not given you enough? I've given you fire, wind and water Food, and beauty beyond compare Even oceans, forests and mountains I’ve given you everything you have And you think you own me Why do you hurt yourselves? Don't you see how foolish it is? Don't you see you're hurting me too? Because you are a part of me And by hurting and killing yourselves You're actually hurting me By throwing your trash in my oceans And hunting my animals for sport With every bullet and bomb, You destroy so many species Your cruelty makes you evil And you don't even realize it Every wrapper and every scrap You pollute my rivers and oceans Even the trees you cut down You kill without even thinking Nearly everything you do hurts me You destroy in the name of progress You create and innovate at my expense One day you will see that by hurting me You are only

The Blame Game

We humans are experts at blaming each other And we do it, even if it means hurting another We never take responsibility for our own actions do we? We’re blind to it for some reason and this just cannot be  We blame others for things like racism, rape and wars When we see others suffer, we start moving our jaws We punish those who do wrong without trying to teach them right And then we go on and on about some self-righteous fight  We blame nations for arming rebels and creating unjust ways Thing is, we could’ve stopped it, but we let it happen anyway We blame a whole race and religion for terrorism without cause And then voice our opinions without knowing what’s true or false We protest immigrants for coming over and ‘taking our jobs’ They aren’t you enemy and this ignorance must stop Imagine if we worked to together and kept moving forward But alas we fall prey to propaganda and the words of a coward  We fight for equality amongst genders; it’s

Growing Up 90s

I remember growing up, it was so much fun running around outside and playing in the sun the world was a different place then, we were so free hiding in the bushes, even climbing up a tree Cartoons back then were better than now right up until the one with the chicken and the cow the music back then still made you wanna dance the lyrics told stories and the beats kept you in a trance TV was so original back then, where do I start Knight Rider, A-Team even Hart to Hart Renegade, Sledge Hammer and MASH 4.0.7.7 The Fresh Prince, The Simpsons and more, it was heaven Movies were the same, they told brilliant stories brilliant cinematography and acting in all its glory Jurassic Park, Titanic and so much more long before Hollywood became a special effects whore Computer games were the bomb too, conquest, alley cat we always played through never know where the baddies would lurk two play on one keyboard, we made it work Those were the days, when Nintendo ruled the wo

Humanity

How did humanity manage to stray so far? Why can’t we understand that one simple truth? That we are all human, same skin, bone and hair To change this world, we need to start with the youth We have politicians who live to turn things sour They curse and destroy peoples lives at will They're driven by greed, money and power If only they worked for the people and not make them ill Then, we have terrorists who kill in the name of god Driven by the propaganda of an unjust hatred Complemented by racists and supremacists whose leaders are all frauds They need to be taught right & wrong before they end up dead There are also those who call themselves men in vain Rapists, abusers, thieves and murderers just to name a few On the underwear of humanity, these people are a stain The saddest part of all this, is that its nothing new Is this really the world we should proudly call home? A world where innocent blood is spilled so easily? U

The Crush

Have you ever liked that one particular person? The one that everyone says is wrong for you, But despite it all in your heart, they're perfect, That one person, that you wanna talk to all the time, About pretty much everything, cos they're out of the box And because they can relate, you instantly feel that connection? The one you didn't expect to ever reply to your simple 'hello'? The one that unexpectedly stole your heart, ? With that captivating smile or that cheeky smirk, They become the first and last person you think about everyday, A glance at a night club or a picture on social media, And your heart and mind are in a tail spin, And when its time to actually speak to them, Your tongue gets tied in a knot and the words don't come out right, Even the message tone on your phone gets you excited, The one that makes you feel like anything is possible, Like you can endure anything, And the one you would do anything for, But when they sudde

Acceptance

This world is full of narrow minded individuals, we humans judge each other so much its almost ritual acceptance in abundance that the world needs hate only grows from many misguided seeds So what if someone believes in something? there should be no room for all this grumbling its not anyone's place to disagree with that to each their own, that's a saddest of all facts Everyone has a right to choose their own dues why does it matter if someone looks different than you? or even if he or she follows another religion? so what if man loves a man or a woman loves a woman There's so many people who talk about saving the earth hate is taught to people, it's not something we inherit at birth save the trees, the animals, but it's all talk with no action lets begin with the people, maybe that'll start that needed chain reaction All this war, the senseless killing and suffering around us all because some idiot somewhere decided to make a fuss MJ said

Taken for granted

It's a given that in life, people always come and go, some stay forever, others for just a moment or so, Either we don't understand or see their full potential And at the time, we're closed to their credentials There are people who genuinely open their hearts And with certain people, we don't know where to start we just assume that they'll always be there for us through thick and thin without putting up a fuss But the sad fact is after that initial seed is planted these are the same people, that we take for granted we don't realise they may not be around too long at all and when we reach for them, we'll most likely fall Fact is, sometimes we need that support in our lives especially as we get older and it gets difficult to survive we make harsh decisions and leave good people without a word they've moved on, and you haven't even heard Some just text and ask ' hey, how was your day?' or 'wanna catch up for a drink or dinner someday?' w

Than to have never loved at all..

Some would say, it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, Some would argue that one is lucky to have their heart broken rather than never knowing what its like to fall And holding on to the end of that burning rope, while hanging on to every inch of sanity Sometimes it ends up helping you overcome a certain level of obscene vanity Some question 'What is love?'  what does it actually mean? To some, love is the reason the sun shines after rain It's an addiction, a craving one just has to give in to even if the injection causes excruciating pain It is light and darkness at the same time, it's motivation it has the power to cure as well as kill, But while two people are together in the depths of love, it's nothing short of a phenomenal thrill And to never know the feeling or to never fall in love? everyone deserves it, even those who are wicked It is more powerful than any weapon, it'll bring to you to your k

From a distance...

There she is, a picture of perfection in your eyes so radiant and elegant with a smile so bright and pure There she moves, with each step she gets further away independent of all around her, so graceful her perfect eyes shimmering in the light There she sits, sipping on her drink, mingling sharing a giggle at joke glancing at her a glowing phone There she stands, her body moving gracefully to the music gyrating almost sensually until once again she takes her seat There she was, leaving you speechless with every move her black hair moving too and fro smiling as she catches your gaze for a moment There she goes the object of your hearts desire with a hug and a kiss that echo in your heart she leaves, waving good bye

A prayer for the world

Dear lord, The entire world has lost the plot How is it possible that we all forgot? That we're all human beings at heart That in this world's future, we all play a part There's propaganda spreading like wild fire And it's absorbed blindly by hates desire They spill innocent blood in your name So many dying for politics, it's a crying shame Why can't the different cultures just get along? If we could coexist and unite we'd be strong The lack of humanity in some baffles the mind How can we be so evil to our own kind? Women and children suffer unfathomable abuse Rape, beatings and death just the spark to the fuse It's intolerable how low man has sunk Worse even that the oder expelled from a skunk We're also killing the very world you give us Everything is polluted, from the water to the dust We don't realize that we're just hurting ourselves And some future species will have us on shelves Let your guiding light shine

Nice guys finish last

Everyone wants to be the good guy or the hero, although sometimes it might not be right, sometimes its being the one nobody cares about, the one who everyone steps on and uses at work, the one who never has good luck with relationships the one who is always the third wheel, the chaperon, the one who hold's the door open for everyone the one who sometimes feels being alone, is best  seldom does being the good guy actually mean anything he's the guy that sits at the bar all by his lonesome, the broody one, who his friends always complain about but no one approaches because he looks like an outcast the shy one who doesn't know what to say to the girl he likes the one who loses out to the guy with deep pockets, good looks, broad shoulders and a six pack the one who walks away and disappears without a trace the one who gets left behind, because he doesn't play politics he's the honest one and oddly the lonely one, the recluse, whose bes

Poison

Reeling from the pain as her fangs pierce his flesh he was defenseless, his heart a blissful mess he feels her poison flow through his veins a sensation that soothes like the sound of  falling rain The venom that spews from within her soul is like a captivating high that engulfs him whole he's a slave to her now, he cannot escape her the reason he cant let go? even he cannot decipher Her wish, his every command and his heart hers to spare people say he's stupid, but for some reason she's beyond compare her venomous grasp flows through his every blood cell the poison in his heart, would send any normal person to hell But for him it's like heaven, he wouldn't let go for anything because simply he was hooked by a smile so enchanting her beauty was timeless, not only in body but also in spirit he struggles to free himself and if he did, he couldn't bare it He struggles when shes gone and kneels in her presence he cant bare to

One Blood

How do you not see that we're all the same? Same flesh, same blood, we differ only by name Don't we understand what human is anymore? We think we're smart, but we've nothing to show Yes, it'd true we all believe in different things Hate is pointless, what justice does it bring? We have different gods, lifestyles and rules Yet some choose to listen to the rambling of fools What is the point of a nation with free education? If we don't teach people to avoid hateful situations? If we were taught the basics of right and wrong Maybe we'd stop hearing the same hate song All this propaganda about blood these days So much injustice and the people look away All these extreme and racist behavior Is not now nor has ever been the work of a savior We've already seen and felt the toils of a war And it was the single worst thing that we ever saw Why try so hard to go backwards in time And lower ourselves to a level even less than grime Whether
