Tears

Why do we only cry behind closed doors? Has nobody ever cried in public before? We’re human beings after all, that’s a fact So why can’t we behave with a little tact? Tears are a human’s purest sign of emotion It is not a sign of weakness or a demotion For even the upmost joy can bring one to tears And so can the realization, of our biggest fears Have you ever cried at a movie at all? Or felt even the tiniest tear drop fall? Remember when you heard certain lyrics of a song? How can the world believe it’s wrong? Whether we realize it or not, it makes life grand It means we can relate and that we understand They should bring us closer and not tear us apart But these tough folks, don’t know where to start Tears makes us real, warm and maybe even bold As opposed to robotic, heartless and cold But then, people are horrid, selfish and cruel They think they’re strong, so they act like fools Tears are not something to laugh at or mock It’s something ...

One Day

One day I’ll get things right And only then will I give up the fight One day everything will work out  And I’ll finally know what life is all about One day I’ll be back on my feet And I’ll move forward without retreat One day I will make all the rules And I will no longer be judged or called a fool One day the tears will stop falling And I’ll stand up instead of crawling One day I’ll be able to stand strong And make right all I ever did wrong One day I‘ll be back on top of my game And I won’t have to hang my head in shame One day I just might meet someone again And she will free my heart from these lonely chains One day I’ll earn back the respect and trust I lost I’ll get through the hard times no matter the cost One day the whole world will hear me say That I made it to the top, and I did it my way

Our unsung heroes

It's funny how much we only think about ourselves There are people that we just put on the shelves We live our lives in our own little bubbles Not thinking about those we go to when there's trouble To support our lives they battle with their own Would it hurt to return the love they've shown? They do everything for us and we are ungrateful They've always been there even to take us to school It's not that we don't appreciate what they do But we could show them we understand too They give us everything yet we take them for granted And I suppose it's about time somebody ranted Granted, in some cases there is abuse and pain And tears block your vision like a storm of rain But then stop and think about how you came to be And maybe you can come to terms with the struggles you don't see The unknown lengths, the many sacrifices They show as the road and we travel with our own devices So show some love to those who keep us from being zeroes...

I, Earth

I am the reason you exist Yet, you take me for granted Do you take pleasure in hurting me? Have I not given you enough? I've given you fire, wind and water Food, and beauty beyond compare Even oceans, forests and mountains I’ve given you everything you have And you think you own me Why do you hurt yourselves? Don't you see how foolish it is? Don't you see you're hurting me too? Because you are a part of me And by hurting and killing yourselves You're actually hurting me By throwing your trash in my oceans And hunting my animals for sport With every bullet and bomb, You destroy so many species Your cruelty makes you evil And you don't even realize it Every wrapper and every scrap You pollute my rivers and oceans Even the trees you cut down You kill without even thinking Nearly everything you do hurts me You destroy in the name of progress You create and innovate at my expense One day you will see that by hurting me You are only ...
