We’re all driven by our emotions By how we feel, in any situation We're built for both joy and pain Even if it drives us all insane It's the way of the world we live in Even if sometimes it feels like a prison That's human nature, how it's meant to be We feel everything we touch, hear and see Love, happiness, pain, and sadness Stress, frustration, anger, and madness Our emotions can break us or keep us intact Because they always determine how we react Our reactions are based on what we feel And sometimes it clouds fake from real Emotions also define how we see others And sometimes dictates how we treat one another They can unite and separate people And give us strength or make us feeble We're born with free will to make our own choices And we have a right to use our own voices But our voices aren't always strong Because sometimes they can steer us wrong So think about the feelings, each and every day Because in reality, our emotions can lead us astray

What a chaotic year it’s been, Look at all that we have seen, The world stopped because of a virus, And we’re still letting hate divide us, Politicians still lying through their teeth, Ignoring all the funerals and wreaths, Corruption still rampant behind the scenes It’s still the same old song and dance routine, We all should address this common threat, And fight our way back from certain death, So many have been affected already, We’ve seen something this deadly, Yet some still think that they’re invincible, And contracting the virus is inconceivable, They live on in their ignorant bliss But the truth is, nobody is safe from this, They protest having to wear a mask, And it’s really such a simple ask, But people are ignorant and selfish, Only thinking of their lives, not anyone else’s, At least now can we set aside the hate? Hope is the need to be happy, when the world is weighing you down. It’s the need to smile, when everything is going wrong Hope is the need for love, when you feel like you’re unworthy. It’s the need for companionship, when you’re all alone. Hope is the need for empathy when nobody seems to understand its the need for likeminded people who can relate to how you feel Hope is being able to reach out, knowing there’s a helping hand. It’s the loyalty of friends and family, when you need them more than anything. Hope is the driving force of life, when you’re back is against the ropes. It’s what pushes you forward, when everything holds you back. Hope is the need for justice, when unfathomable acts are committed. It’s the need for something to believe in, when all else seems lost Hope is all that we have, to help us get through the worst. It’s the belief that things will get better, despite all the things that hurt.

What a time to be alive In a world that once thrived Life is at a standstill And how we react is our own will It has taken away life as we knew it And tried hard to break our spirits It has taught us many lessons About ourselves and our emotions Lockdown has taken a toll On our minds, bodies, and souls Stuck at home and lost in thought About past battles and ones to be fought And our minds are now implanted With freedoms, we took for granted At the same time, it has reminded Of friends who are like-minded It has renewed loyalty and love To help us all rise above It is true we’re far apart From those close to our hearts But we’re not alone in any instance We’re together despite the distance Take solace in the little things Embrace what little joy they bring Because we will be together again Or all this will be in vain Despite the frustration felt within We can’t let this pandemic win So stay healthy and don’t roam Please be safe...

How do you find what you seek, if you feel but never speak? how could anyone really know, if you never let your feelings show? Life is all about taking chances more than words and a few glances if we don't try then what's the point? not doing anything will only disappoint We have to push ourselves to try things who knows what joy it may bring? not knowing is part of life's beauty even if it exposes the worlds cruelty Forget the stories your history has told, who knows what the future will hold? while life may not always go your way you'll meet interesting folks along the way Weighing pros and cons does take a toll and we must let go of what the world stole It's time we just enjoy our front row seats because there's no telling who we'll meet Nothing comes easy, we must take risks it's the only way to know why we exist stay in the shadows and you wont be missed so take that leap and don go unnoticed 

Imagine this, wouldn't it be really nice? if everything was good and didn't just suffice like a day outdoors, when the weather was sunny not a concern in the world, least of all money Birds chirping, sitting way up in the trees and everything falling into place with ease a job that gives you everything you need recognition without delving deep into greed A partner, a confidant both loving and loyal with a heart of gold and the beauty of a Royal the only one who gets you and your every desire and a lover that craves you with eyes of fire Friends who show you both respect and love a crew that has your back when push comes to shove a family who loves and supports you through all and there's nothing on earth to make you feel small It's a perfect life without a worry in your heart nothing ever going wrong or falling apart two cars and a house with no mortgage or debt with food on the table and a dog for a pet Sounds amazing doesn't it? We’re all allowed to speak our minds But should we if we’re being unkind? Who are we to step on another’s beliefs, And unnecessarily cause people grief? Our words alone can have a terrible effect When we don’t think of who they’ll affect We just say and do things without remorse Ignorant to the harm it may actually cause Some use opinions to spread hate and pain Deliberately hurting people for personal gain They prey on peoples lifestyles and choices without realizing the power of their voices  Having an opinion is a true god given right And when we express it we often lose sight Of the responsibility we have for word and actions And that we must accept people’s reactions One of our saddest truths despite everything Is that we forget that we’re all human beings We don’t have to step on another’s dominion We can live and let live but then that’s my opinion

It's amazing how life actually works and how people you trust, become jerks life's not meant to be easy, that's for sure and people's cruelty sure as hell has no cure It's sad fact of life that people come and go we fulfill a purpose till we aren't needed anymore loss is the hardest thing to deal with in our hearts however they leave us, we're always torn apart The pain that some ignore is all too real and it takes a long time for some souls to heal people see it as weak and just ignore the yelp not realising at all that it's all a cry for help Unfortunately that's just how people are all they do is pretend that they care they use, abuse, manipulate and ditch and they're the ones that always end up rich And yet, we still go to enormous lengths to help with every ounce of our strength even then they all walk away like we're rotten and all the good we've done, is simply forgotten 

It's what we all look for in life To be happy and free of strife While some have it pretty easy Others struggle and become needy It brings balance, yet it's not fair That some succeed with out a care It's hard watching through envious eyes Looking on at those who never really cry In a world where romance is dead We lay here all alone in our bed Wondering "what if that was me?" The perfect child with no ugly to see We blame ourselves for all our faults hurting instead of locking them in vaults In the end, we all want the same thing To be happy and enjoy what life brings To be with both family and friends Who love you and are with you till the end To live a life of mostly joy and laugther Would be nothing short of happily ever after

My, my what an absolute shame That some “men” think that life’s just a game When did we lose our grasp on common sense? And start preying on weakness and innocence? It’s true; we live in a world with people who’re cruel But when did that become an absolute rule? I’m a man, and it’s all so disgusting to me That some take advantage while others pretend not to see  It’s unfortunate that this is the reality we have to live in Will “men” actually understand the affects of what they’re doing? What gives you the right to abuse the people that gave you life? Cos “She” is your mother, your sister, your daughter and even your wife! Do you really think that assaulting a woman makes you a man? Do you really think that anyone is impressed or truly gives damn? And don't make excuses about upbringings and childhood Or that abuse begets abuse, cos that doesn’t make it right or good Nothing on earth can justify these actions, nothing at all and to those who defen...

They dwell within the souls of us all When they're unleashed, everything falls Keeping them subdued within is hard Unhinged they'd go the whole nine yards Even their faces look a lot like our own Holding them down takes strength unknown Living with pain & anger and alone since birth Seldom seen by anyone on the face of the earth We fight the temptations, we can't give in We cannot fall to the hurt we feel within Instead, despite the anquish and stress We must lock them away, and leave out the rest Sometimes they break out from under lock and key And spread carnage as far as the eye can see They are the spawn of our burden and rage And we fight to put them back in their cage The monsters in us, others hardly ever see A simple glimpse and your loved ones flee They will hurt you and everyone you know So whatever you do, never let them go

Remember when we were kids? And all we wanted was to grow up?  Now as adults, we're flipping our lids  Wondering if the stress will ever stop Back then we were all so carefree Life seemed easy, a breeze and then some As we got older we all began to see How difficult life actually becomes We still have to make time for our friends And as adults we’re sometimes forced to choose The real few will always be with you end We have to let go of some we don’t want to lose Now it’s responsibilities galore It's mostly all work, hardly any play  And childhood feels like a lifetime ago  That's just how it is, there is no other way  We have priorities like bills and food And we do what we can, just to get by It’s all a routine, which is not always good We just do what we do and don’t ask why Adulting was never meant to be easy at all But we have to keep running our own race Life may overwhelm us and make us feel small ...

Life is full of difficult decisions It never really ends up how we envisioned  We never get everything we want, that's fact  We just play the hand we're dealt from the pack  It's hard for everyone this game we call life  We all face our hardships and battle through strife Sometimes things work out, sometimes they don't  The hardest thing is accepting it, cos mostly we won't Life is a gamble and that's nobody's fault And losing is like covering an open wound with salt Some to walk away without dealing with pain Though facing your demons is the only way to stay sane But then there times when the game goes right And for these battles, we must stand and fight Cos at the end of the it'll being joy to your heart Even if it brings pain, just bite the bullet from the start

Do we live according to a pre-written plan? Is there a writer who keeps messing with our scripts? We never really know what life has in hand So we play the cards we’re dealt and hope we don’t slip Hard decisions plague our routines everyday And we see people come in and out of our lives at will Some we get close to and love and they leave anyway When we question it, sometimes the answers make us ill We look for friendship, compassion and above all loyalty Particularly when things go wrong and we can’t thrive And we’re treated like crap by wannabe royalty We end up feeling like bad luck rules our lives Funny thing is, we’re the only people who can control it all Our fate can only be decided by the futures we want to see We are the writers of our own stories, we decide if we rise or fall It’s up to us to choose our fate, and write our unscripted destiny
