The Beast

He had everything any man could need Just like the arrogant Prince in that fairy tale story Day by day he lived it up and his ego would feed Never realizing he himself would undo his on glory And just like that, one day he lost it all His life and riches gone and his heart broken Upon his knees he watched his kingdom fall His tears describing words unspoken Now all alone and his past a distant memory The life he knew slipped through his fingers Locked in his lonely tower for what seems like a century His appearance changed, like a beast he lingers The scars he bares from self-inflicted wounds Watching the world go by from his own personal hell Hoping that one day he will no longer be marooned and like the Beast in the story, he too will be saved by a Belle

Nice guys finish last

Everyone wants to be the good guy or the hero, although sometimes it might not be right, sometimes its being the one nobody cares about, the one who everyone steps on and uses at work, the one who never has good luck with relationships the one who is always the third wheel, the chaperon, the one who hold's the door open for everyone the one who sometimes feels being alone, is best  seldom does being the good guy actually mean anything he's the guy that sits at the bar all by his lonesome, the broody one, who his friends always complain about but no one approaches because he looks like an outcast the shy one who doesn't know what to say to the girl he likes the one who loses out to the guy with deep pockets, good looks, broad shoulders and a six pack the one who walks away and disappears without a trace the one who gets left behind, because he doesn't play politics he's the honest one and oddly the lonely one, the recluse, whose bes...

A day that changed my life

October 20th 1996, was a day that changed everything one simple left turn, and it was all or nothing a simple long weekend trip was all it took the memories of what happened next, had as all a little shook It didn't make much sense that we had two vehicles that day if the trees of Yala could speak, it would talk about this story today simply put the second vehicle brought six souls home that night they would all agree that the events of this day, gave us a fright By around 10am, we had seen most of what there was to see except the leopard, which was as elusive as can be our guide told us to take a left up ahead greeted by armed men escorting white vans, we all thought we would end up dead We stopped dead in our tracks, they opened the doors of the car what happened there after was testament to the situation in our country by far 'take us to the manik ganga' they said, and we did what we were told I'll never forget the events of this day,  even when I'm old It was la...

The Poet

Sitting at his desk with his notebook and pen, scribbling down words that rhyme now and then his purpose for writing it was never personal gain but is a means of expressing his infinite pain Some rhymes are good and some are bad, some don't rhyme at all, some rhymes are sad, from his heart filled with emotions so raw and the memories of things he felt and saw A battle hardened warrior, bloodied and all alone sitting in solitude now with his rhymes and tones his friends and family, though they're all surround he lives his life in rhyme, like nobody's around He carries on his back, a weight very heavy, his shoulders are soaked by the tears of many over the years he learned to hold back his own because his were tears that should be shed alone His words are an open window in to his heart, and his life as a writer, with poetry did start but when those words refuse come out right he keeps writing, he doesn't quit without a fight Bad choices and decis...

From demons to doves

There was a time when pain filled his heart, When nothing in life went according to plan It all seemed useless, he didn’t know where to start He needed to fix things, he needed to make a stand It had to be done, he had to get off the shelf He had to make a move and restart his life He had to prove his worth lf, for nobody but himself, He had to beat this pain and get through the strife He fights every day, because moving forward is right At long last he has found his calling, his life finally has purpose Breaking through pains grip so tight He stands tall and proud, he is no longer nervous Despite it all, inside he will always mourn, There’s a piece missing from his heart He’s in a good place in life, but he’s still feels alone Especially when he see’s everyone else’s journey start Life goes on and he hopes that someday He might once again find love, He has earned his respect and he’s done it his way But when he fills that emptiness, he’s demons will once again be doves
