A prayer for the world

Dear lord,

The entire world has lost the plot
How is it possible that we all forgot?
That we're all human beings at heart
That in this world's future, we all play a part

There's propaganda spreading like wild fire
And it's absorbed blindly by hates desire
They spill innocent blood in your name
So many dying for politics, it's a crying shame

Why can't the different cultures just get along?
If we could coexist and unite we'd be strong
The lack of humanity in some baffles the mind
How can we be so evil to our own kind?

Women and children suffer unfathomable abuse
Rape, beatings and death just the spark to the fuse
It's intolerable how low man has sunk
Worse even that the oder expelled from a skunk

We're also killing the very world you give us
Everything is polluted, from the water to the dust
We don't realize that we're just hurting ourselves
And some future species will have us on shelves

Let your guiding light shine forth once more
Help us see the error of our ways so we can grow
It doesn't matter what form you take
Only you can save us from our own mistakes
