Reset

It's an ability we all wish we had

particularly when life got terribly bad

but alas that's not the way the world works

we have to accept that life can be a colossal jerk 

It can be anything, no matter how trivial

and there's nothing you wouldn't do if it means survival

we all wish we could turn back time at some point in life

and hit reset so we wouldn't have to deal with the strife

A mistake that cost a relationship
choking last minute and losing the big championship
the loss of a loved one you couldn't be there for
it could be anything, we never really know

We all want that button, the one that changes it all
one that takes us back in time with one simple call
the one that gives us another chance to make things right
but like a mirage in the desert, it fades out of sight

Life is fickle and there isn't much we can do to mend
and only the creator knows when everything begins and ends
we push forward, knowing that an opportunity has gone
because regardless of what happens, the sun still shines at dawn
