The Lost Knight

Like a Knight from the days of old
He wears his armour over a heart of gold
Fighting for survival in life's great war
Demons in his mind from all he saw

He fears no man, blade or bodily harm
He can't count the times he nearly bought the farm
Standing against evil, a gauntlet he would face
Fighting for good and vanishing without a trace

Living with body covered by the scars of his past
He travels on hoping he's find true love at last
The Armour around his heart, fading slowly
He was a hardened warrior, yet humble and lowly

Like all Knights, he has a chip on his shoulder
Bearing the weight of his pain, onward he'd soldier
His only weakness was his Noble heart
And from his undying lust for love, he did not part

Only the blades of love could pierce his armour
Bringing him to his knees, as he was no charmer
To defend his love he would charge any fight
But for now he wonders on, a lost and lonely Knight
